South West Tool Hire has been supporting Wring Group on major demolition projects in the heart of Bristol City Centre, with a range of dust suppression equipment helping keep works moving safely and responsibly.
Working in a busy city centre environment means dust control is a key part of the job. To help manage this, Wring Group has been using South West Tool Hire’s Multimister Road Tow Bowser, Mist Cannon and Multimister Tilting Mast to help keep dust to a minimum while demolition progresses.

Using the right dust suppression equipment on demolition projects can make a real difference, particularly on larger sites or in built-up locations, like the heart of the city centre. Mist cannons are an effective way to tackle airborne dust at source, helping improve visibility, support safer working conditions and reduce the impact on the surrounding area.

The combination of mist cannons and suppression bowsers also gives site teams more flexibility, allowing them to respond to different working areas and changing conditions as the project moves forward. This dust suppression equipment is extremely manoeuvrable, enabling them to be positioned around the demolition work. On demolition jobs, that kind of adaptability is a real advantage.
Richard Hughes, Regional Sales, H&S and Operations Manager at South West Tool Hire, said:
“Dust is a massive issue within the demolition industry, and our clients have a responsibility to minimise disruption to the neighbouring properties. Using our cannons, alongside our suppression bowsers, helps keep our clients safe and compliant.”
Construction of the new Bristol Brabazon

South West Tool Hire dust suppression equipment is also being used on the New Aviva Arena – Patchway site. The works form part of the construction of the Bristol Brabazon Station, a new railway station being built to serve the upcoming Bristol Brabazon neighbourhood and Aviva Arena at the former Filton Airfield in North Bristol, The new railway station will help improve transport links in the area, including access for people travelling to and from the new arena and the wider Filton site.
On large-scale infrastructure and construction projects, managing airborne dust is essential for maintaining safer working conditions, protecting the wider environment and helping keep the site operating responsibly.
If your site has dust suppression requirements, South West Tool Hire can help with a range of solutions for demolition, construction and other high-dust applications.
